Introduction to Load Templates
Templates can be used to quickly create elements in Fr8App: facilities, loads, etc.
The purpose of templates is to save manual work.
If you have a regular route, you can create a template that pre-populates the type of goods, origin, and destination locations. You can easily reuse it as many times as needed to create shipments quickly, efficiently, and easily.
There are two ways to access templates in Fr8App:
- In the left-hand side menu.
- In the loads section, at the top, where different options for creating loads are offered.
How to create a new template
To create a new template, click the Create Template button in the top right corner.
A new form will open where you can fill in the load details, such as:
Equipment Tab
- Box type.
- Box category.
- Door, roof, and panel material types.
- Open text fields for entering special requirements, product descriptions, or additional notes.
- A special section for indicating whether hazardous materials are included or if additional handling is required.
Origin/Destination Location Tab
In the next tab, we select the relevant data for the origin and destination appointments.
If the facilities have already been registered on the platform, they can be easily selected from the drop-down menu, and all fields will be automatically filled in. This is why it's so effective and recommended to spend a few minutes entering the facility data into our account beforehand.
When entering the locations, we'll also see a visual pre-calculation of the shipments conveniently in Google Maps.
Summary Tab
Finally, we access a tab with a summary of the created route, where we:
- Assign the currency (USD, MXN, etc.).
- And assign this route an easily identifiable name.
- Click Save Template.
How to create a template-based load
Every time you want to create a load for that route already saved in template format, click on Load Template.
All general route data will be conveniently preloaded, filling in the corresponding fields automatically.
And we will only have to fill in the specific variable data of the load, such as:
Pickup and delivery date
Load-specific identifiers
Fields are provided for the collection number, which is required, and you can also click on Show Optional Identifiers to display an additional set of fields for filling in other available identifiers such as BOL, Order or Stamp Number, Box Number, etc.
We will click on Next.
Rate and Publication
On this final screen:
- We'll add a maximum price as the rate for the shipment.
- We'll assign an expiration date to the shipment proposal.
- We'll click Publish Load.
